Feather 32u4 Adalogger - We use a "all-in-one" data logger (or data reader) with built-in USB and battery charging capabilities. Its Adafruit Feather 32u4 comes with a ready microSD card slot!
The core of Feather 32u4 is the ATmega32u4 with a clock frequency of 8 MHz and a logic voltage of 3.3V. This chip has the same settings as Flora, so we have a lot of experience. The chip has 32K flash memory and 2K RAM, and comes with a built-in USB, so it not only has built-in USB to serial programming and debugging functions without the need for FTDI like chips, but it can also work like a mouse, keyboard, USB MIDI device, etc.
For ease of use in portable projects, we have added connectors to any of the 3.7V lithium polymer batteries and built-in battery charging functionality. You don't need a battery, it can run normally directly from the Micro USB connector. However, if you have a battery, you can carry it with you and plug it into a USB for charging. When Feather is available, it will automatically switch to USB power. We also connect the battery to the analog pins through a voltage divider, so you can measure and monitor the battery voltage to detect when charging is needed.
