Description

The classic Japanese Marantz HDAM audio linear amplification circuit boasts excellent sound quality, with outstanding low frequencies, rich mid-tones, and delicate high frequencies. It provides a comfortable listening experience, reminiscent of the warmth of electronic tubes, which operational amplifier preamps cannot match. Unfortunately, the core tube K170 was discontinued in later stages, and using the K246K30 fails to reproduce its beautiful sound quality.
In 2024, we ordered original Toshiba replacement tubes from overseas that have exactly the same characteristics as the K170. The chip contains two 2SK tubes with identical characteristics, eliminating the need for matching and achieving lower distortion indicators. The output uses high-current BD139 and BD140 as Class A outputs, providing superior driving power that can even drive low-impedance headphones. It is more convenient when paired with an amplifier.
